President Obama invites Kasich, other new governors to White House

President Barack Obama has invited Gov.-elect John Kasich and other newly elected Republican and Democratic governors to the White House for a Dec. 2 meeting, the White House announced Thursday.

Rob Nichols, Republican Kasich’s spokesman, said there had been no discussion yet on the invitation.

“…I think it’s a terrific opportunity to hear from them, folks who are working at the state and local levels, about what they’re seeing, what ideas they think Washington needs to be paying more attention to,” the Democratic president said after a cabinet meeting, according to a White House transcript.

Governors must deal with “nuts and bolts” issues that “oftentimes yields the kind of common sense approach that the American people, I think, are looking for right now,” Obama said.

During the midterm elections I unfortunately had the uncanny experience of hearing time and time again racist comments directed at President Obama (these comments were not about his policies only his race). These comments and the people who mouthed them (Republicans and T Partiers) demonstrated that they were lost in some time zone that had not allowed them to evolve and grow. I began to think slavery is not over in this state. Since they (Republicans and/or T Partiers) are incapable of deciphering fact from fiction (most people who think like they do are ignoramuses or rednecks), I was left to believe that this area or places like Ohio have never really experienced equality, which means whites work to remain segregated…and it indeed shows. Thus, at this time in history the Redneck culture remains and dominates in Red States (no pun intended).

The majority of whites are not racist or ignorant. I am only referring to those who voted for Kasich.

Redneck is not a racial slur and cannot be equated with a word used by men who called themselves slave masters and who used a variety of words to refer to the ones they stole. But…the word ignoramus(es) is more acceptable… In other words: they know not what they do…. Refer to the biblical teachings of Jesus on this…

Most Americans know what Obama is about and they don’t agree with him. Obama is the person who will need to make the most effort because everything he’s done so far is rejected by the vast majority of Americans. In addition, the lies, bribes, wheeling/dealing, lack of transparency (Chicago politics) left a very bad taste.

Do you know why Ohio is considered a redneck state? It is because of people like you who keep saying and doing the unthinkable, for instance picking on poor children —- the majority of whom are white —- who happen to be the largest group of Americans living in poverty. Newsflash: you failed arithmetic. Count the jobs before you blame the parents. Your childlike distain of the poor shows that you think you know all things and of course that is not true. Consult your Bible on that one… Do something that makes you sound human or humane or civilized. But… please… please take the moot out of your own eye first and foremost… “In his portrayal of the day of judgment, Jesus pictured people from all nations gathered before him, separated into sheep and goats. (Matthew 25:31-46) To the sheep he says, “Come you blessed of my Father, for I was hungry and you fed me…” In their astonishment they ask, “When did we do that?” And he answers, “When you did it to the lowliest of my brothers (and sisters).” Conversely, to the goats he says, “Out of my sight, you who are condemned, for I was hungry and you did not feed me…”

President Obama will always be recognized and remembered for passing historic legislation — from healh care reform, to consumer protections, all of which respond to the needs of all Americans. Republicans will always have a legacy, during this time in history, of being unAmerican as witnessed by the financial collapse. In other words, history will be more than eager to acknowledge what present day Republicans cannot acknowledge. Again, the Republicans do not have any power. President Obama will use his “regulatory authority, his enforcement powers, and his prerogatives as commander in chief to make decisive moves that can’t be sabotaged by Congressional Republicans” who care nothing about American citizens. Because Democrats decided not to vote during the midterm election, he has learned his lesson and will remember who supported him in 2008. Note: I do not watch Fox News or read the Columbus Dispatch and/or dabble in untruths so my view of our nation will never agree with yours. On Kasich: Have you ever ventured outside of Ohio… ventured down the street or across the train tracks to the south side or opened your door… to listen to the views of those different than you? Nevermind, that was a silly question… of course you have not. In order for Ohio to be recognized as something other than a redneck state it will have to represent all of its citizens. Kasich will never be great at anything… other than being a special interest office holder who did not know how to be inclusive in recognizing Liberals overall, white, black, brown or yellow. What he is doing however is causing some folks to wake up… after the fact… only because many people thought he was such a fringe character that he could not and would not win. And please… stop having delusions that the Republicans are supported by Americans: 53% of Americans do not like Republicans. Note: The Democrats control the Senate… and whatever happens… President Obama is still a Democratic president who won because he rejected Republican ideas. We will be awake in 2012 thanks to folks like Kasich and others.

We do hold all the power in Columbus. Sorry about your luck on that one. I think our Governor will go down in history at the best governor ever in Ohio. He will make this a Right to Work state and plus he will get rid of the people on the Welfare, Medicaid doles. We need to get this state in financial order. If people want to live on welfare we will run them up to New York or somewhere else to live. Sorry I am tired of paying for lazy people that don’t want to do anything but lay around and make babies and rake in the dough and I will have to support them.

Actually Terri, the republicans now have control of the purse strings. That is the power the American people gave them and the American people also did their best to get the career politicians out of there. We’ve got more to go, but for now the American people have hopefully put the breaks on this wild spending. As far as your prejudice against republicans maybe you would like a sit down with Col Allen West to school you on what republicans really represent. Not the lies your democrats (dupes by communists) in Washington tell you. The democrats (duped by communists) have spend decades instilling these lies and hate in you. Col West can school you with the truth.

The Republicans still do not have any power. This of course goes without saying… In fact, the Republicans should consider themselves lucky that President Obama is even acknowledging them. As one of his supporters I would advise him to respond to the citizens who put him in office first and foremost before he loses us… and we start searching for a real liberal. He knows we do not like the Republican Party of “No” or the Republican Party of “Greed” and/or any Republican ideas, programs or policies (tax cuts for the rich, no rules for big businesses, war profiteering, cutting entitlement programs for the poor, financial fraud by banks, insurance companies, mortgage companies, the exploitation of human beings for profit overseas, etc. We were energized in 2008 only because we thought he would promote and support a progressive agenda. He already knows we outnumber Republicans on any given day and will vote when the agenda he supported initatially is promoted, agressively and consistently. When all is said the Republicans can jump up and down all they want —- but without the support of a progressive, liberal President they still are lost in wonderland. Note: 53% of Americans still despise Republican policies and programs. Please spread the word to the chamber of commerce in particular —- money cannot buy love… We want healthcare reform and because liberals want it it will remain in tact.

I heard Rush Linbaugh mention the Right to Work laws need to be as quick as they can to help business. Also to weaken the dems piggy bank. JK needs to sell that to the Ohio citizenry. I just found out we had super majorities in the house and the senate in the statehouse. We don’t need to debate it long or if at all.

Mort, in answer to your question, Obama appears to be disingenuous, not genuine because he refused to allow any republicans to be present while his cohorts wrote the hc bill. Even the press was not allowed in. So much for transparency. Then there is the day before the elections when Obama called Republicans his “enemies”, so you can see that many of us just don’t believe Obama is really wanting to work with Republicans at all.

Obama can invite Kasich and Kasich can choose to accept or not. With the healthcare bill Obama went wrong by giving a mandate that everyone has to participate or be penalized. He also went wrong by having his marxist friends put things like controlling gold regulations within the healthcare bill along with many other non-relevant things. They are control monsters. Not even simple socialists, but those with a desire to control a whole healthcare industry, to hold on to control of 60 percent of a car industry. What kind of people would do that? Marxists! As an individual, yet, stand with millions, plan to see Obama go down since he can’t be a decent American citizen. He will not be re-elected. His healthcare bill will not stand!

People all over America consider Ohio to be a redneck state. President Obama knows we have a very low percentage of college graduates and probably knows we need special attention. It is a wonder anyone showed up for his rallies… and of course when they do attend they have generally studied the issues and speak about the issues in intelligent ways. I think it is shameful that poor whites voted against themselves in voting for Kasich. Poor whites remain the highest number of citizens in this state who are on welfare. Kasich will cut entitlement programs for them in particular and try to destroy the unions that help them move into the middle class. But Kasich is the kind of man who has even been known to raise taxes on those making under 10, 000 dollars. Thank God the Country is “browning” and that Latinos and Blacks will constitute a majority soon. Kasich will never be known as a great govenor. Why? He attacks the most vulnerable American citizens (in actuality poor children, underserved school districts even the mentally ill.) To understand who represents America watch who Blacks support — those presidents, governors become known around the world as successful. In fact, when Blacks say a president or even a governor is horrible that becomes his legacy… that is how he will be known throughout history. After all, Jesus came to help the poor (not the rich) and we are his servants. President Obama wants to compromise with a pack of greedy Republican (who are still in a minority but they do not know it) animals and because he is saying this we all need to pray for him and the nation. I voted for a progressive agenda or an agenda that represents all Americans, and not the special interests of racist greedy white men.

I think the democrats are going to have treadmarks on them when Kasich is done with them. Obama is praying to Mecca over there while we are struggling to make ends meet and he is taking world wide trips on yours and my dime, probably more than a dime though. When we pass the Right to Work legislation in Columbus we will finally get on track with manufacturing coming back to Ohio. Also the Unions won’t be picking the pockets of unwilling employees they are pillaging to give to the socialist and communist a.k.a. DEMOCRATS. Primeir Obama will be a one termer. You Rhinos better get out of the Tea Parties way or you won’t be re-elected either.

Miss Slade: You are surely right about what their dirty little secrets are. You must remember that alot of people don’t know about Soros and his corrupt foundation. They don’t know about the corruption Obama was involved with concerning Acorn. What kind of a President would take off for India with 3,000 people at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars? There are Hindu and Muslims in India and it is hard telling what Obama is up to. I am still back at the mosque deal in New York. They should not be allowed to build it there and definitely not with a grant from our tax dollars!

George Soros is an evil man that funds the Tides Foundation. They want to sneak in the back door and offer your church money and gain entrance to control. I don’t trust them! Plain and simple.

SG - You might wish to check this site out on the prez’s trip. http://factcheck.org/2010/11/ask-factcheck-trip-to-mumbai/ There are also no mass re-deployment of US military assets scheduled. The trip was scheduled long before the elections. Obama is also going to the G-20 Summit in Seoul and the Pacific Rim Security Conference in Japan, just like former Pres. Bush did. The US Congress woman who started all of this didn’t, or couldn’t, cite where see got her sources. It actually came form an ‘unnamed” Indian offical speaking to a New Delhi paper. Not exactly hard evidence.

I have a really important question: Do Democrats have a sense of humor? They think they can get women to give up their BMI (body mass index) without a fight? Marco Rubio or John Boehner for President (they are both cute)? Either one is good for me. I don’t like any of the contenders right now. I think Palin would be a great president, but I don’t see her getting the votes because of the media propaganda. She is a good articulator, but she doesn’t hide it when she doesn’t know something very well like some of the others who are use to lying and telling stories. But when your own president calls you his enemies because you disagree with him, I’m thinking “we can’t get him out of that office fast enough”!! All power to Boehner and Kasich! Slam the White House with every TRICK you have because we must defend our Republic, and those bills Obama has passed will bankrupt our country for sure!
