Strickland campaign unveils new anti-Kasich TV ad

Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland’s re-election campaign on Tuesday, Aug. 24, unveiled a new 30-second statewide TV ad, “Revolving Door”, highlighting Republican John Kasich’s move from the U.S. House to a job as a managing director of Lehman Brothers.

“It’s clear that before he retired from Congress, Congressman Kasich began positioning himself for a lucrative Wall Street job with Lehman Brothers,” Aaron Pickrell, Strickland’s campaign manager said at a press conference.

At the press conference Pickrell discussed meetings involving Kasich, Lehman CEO Dick Fuld and Wilber James while Kasich, Strickland’s Republican challenger, still was in the U.S. House. James introduced Kasich to Fuld, said Pickrell.

Ohio voters deserve answers to questions such as when was Kasich offered the Lehman Brothers’ job and whether he discussed congressional votes with Fuld, said Pickrell.

Kasich campaign spokesman Rob Nichols reacted to the ad:

“Hasn’t Ohio endured enough of Ted Strickland’s failures and his divisive attacks? In fact, Ted Strickland has failed so badly as governor that he’s afraid to even show his face or say his name on TV.

“While John Kasich is offering positive solutions to revive Ohio’s economy and create jobs, Ted Strickland has nothing to offer but more of his negative smears and attacks because he cannot defend his failed record.”

How soon we forget recent history. The Wall street bankers and their republican cronies played games of chance with our economy, our jobs and our retirement savings. After we just voted them out of power now they want to blame democrats. Kasich is a corporate shill plain and simple. No matter how much you polish the turd of republican economic policy it still stinks. Always has, always will.

Did we not just hear about Ohio getting federal funds that Strickland use to hire a Texas company which employs people in El Salvador. Strickland takes American tax dollars to stimulate employment in El Salvador. Sure looks like Strickland is a hypocrite.

But it greatly concerns me that Wall Street Kasich was after the Pensions of Ohio Firemen, Policemen, Teachers, and Ohio Public Employees to have Lehman Brothers manage those funds, when it was well known that Lehman Brothers was using tricks to make it seem they had more assets than they had, when Lehman Brothers was going bankrupt— fooling investors to get their money. Now Kasich must have known about this. Kasich also voted for jobs out sourcing NAFTA and now he’s blaming Strickland for jobs lost? Can’t trust Kasich. It will take time and the Democrats to turn the economy around.

The latest Real Clear Politics average has Kasich up by an average of 7 points. Ted is going to get his clock cleaned in November.

I see Kasich’s manager replies by attacking Strickland, but he NEVER denies the allegations.

I love to hear the lies being told by Strickland’s people. He won’t say it himself so he can protect his “Image”. My image of him is a horse walking away from me. Strickland’s attack dogs love to use term “Managing Director” of Leyhman Bros as if Kasich ran the whole Corporation. Truth is, he was in charge of a two man shop in Columbus. So what if he was offered a job, and accepted it. If he wasn’t qualified he would not have gotten the job, or kept it. Is Strickland saing being a successful businessman and making money and paying taxes is bad? Maybe he would like John better if he was unemployed and on welfare. If Strickland had anything to brag about he wouldn’t be using Attack Dog strategy to win. Maybe he thinks people will believe his lies if he says them often enough.

Strickland is a boob. My wife got a piece of anti-Kasich propoganda from the OEA (teachers union) in the mail today. Used it to pick up some doggie do on the sidewalk. A vote for Stickland is a vote for an idiot by an idiot.
