Second poll shows Fisher with big lead over Brunner
A second poll shows Lt. Gov Lee Fisher with a big lead over Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner in the race for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate.
The poll from the Suffolk University Political Research Center in Boston, released on Friday, April 30, showed Fisher leading Brunner 55-27 percent among likely Democratic primary voters, with 18 percent undecided.
A Quinnpiac University poll released on Wednesday, April 28, showed Fisher leading, 41-27 percent.
The winner of the Tuesday, May 4 Democratic primary will face Republican Rob Portman, a former Cincinnati-area U.S. House member, in November. Incumbent Republican Sen. George Voinovich will retire at the end of his term.
“What was a single-digit race a couple of weeks ago has really opened up,” David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, said in a press release.
“”As always in a projected low turnout, the race is down to who can turn out their core base of support on Election Day. However, this poll suggests that, although the margin may be in question, the outcome will not be.”
The poll was conducted by live telephone interviews Tuesday, April 27, through Thursday, April 29, with 400 likely primary voters. The margin of error on the statewide survey was plus or minus 4.9 percent.

No, but she has clearly taken money from ACORN to falsify voter records. She should be in prison rather than running for another elected office.

Jennifer Brunner has not taken contributions from PACs or CEO’s of banks that accepted TARP bailout funds. She has pledged to continue not taking such funds in the future. She has asked Lee Fisher if he would make the same pledge. He declined. He has already taken tens of thousands of such dollars, including the maximum individual donation from the President of the Goldman Sachs group. No wonder Lee Fisher can afford all the TV ads.

IMO Brunner has been inappropriately partisan in her current office. We need better than to knowingly elect another political hack for US Senate.
