McLin ducked out of dinner on election night

State Sen. Jon Husted, R-Kettering, said Mayor Rhine McLin made a brief appearance at a business dinner at the Racquet Club in the Kettering Tower on election night but left before the event got started.

No one in the room was aware that McLin was about to lose her bid for a third term, Husted said.

“Everybody today is saying ‘Oh, we should have seen that coming,’ ” he said. “…It really caught everyone by surprise.”

The dinner, attended by Gov. Ted Strickland and other state officials, was to welcome Beijing West, the company that purchased some of Delphi’s business lines.

I wonder if Rhine was drunk as a skunk??? I would be willing to bet she was. Rhine Mclin usually rents out buses & gives away free chicken dinners if you come and vote. I wonder if her voters were too busy cashing their welfare checks to go and vote? I think that this has everything to do with Americans speaking up and speaking out. All across the country Democrats & Liberals were voted out of office and Conservatives & Republicans were voted back in. People are starting to figure out that the Democratic party (Liberals Included) is the party of broken promises. 1)”I did not inhale” 2)”I did not have sexual relations with that lady” 3)I was born in Hawaii 4)Chappaquiddick Island 5)”This stimulus package will allow us to never reach 9% un-employment rates” 6)”I will not sign any health care reform bill that would even add 10 cents to the United States Deficit” 7)”I will not allow even one lobbyists access to my administration: 8)”For the first time in my adult life I am proud to be an American” WOW- WAKE THE “F” UP AMERICA!

Food musta been terrible. She wouldn’t pass up food over welcoming new businesses to Dayton, would she? Those little things add up. She can always go back to the mortuary gig.

If this is how the mayor typically treats visiting business people, it certainly says a lot about why we are having trouble attracting and retaining businesses in Dayton. This seems like a big deal to me - important enough for the governor to attend. I can’t think of a good enough excuse short of some medical or family emergency to blow off this kind of event.
