UPDATED - Sen. Brown to speak at health care rally to honor Kennedy
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown is scheduled to speak on Tuesday, Sept. 1, in Columbus at a rally for health care that’s being billed as a tribute to the late Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., who died last week before realizing his long-time goal of national health care reform.
Also, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner apparently are putting aside their battle for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate, but just temporarily.
They’re also among the speakers scheduled for the rally
More than a 1,000 people are expected to attend the 7 p.m. rally at the Ohio State Fairgrounds in Columbus, according to a press release from rally backers. The rally is in the Lausche Building, 717 E 17th Ave. Organizing For America’s Reform Health Care Now tour bus will also be at the event.
Brown is expected to speak about 7:45 p.m.

To Neommon and Bobby J: This country has just lost one of our most hard working, devoted, caring, dedicated heros. You say Ted was a drunk & was misguided. Pick up the Special Commemorative Edition of Newsweek & read it. Then think about all Ted went through in his life and all he accomplished and compare his life to yours. Have you gone through what he went through? How much have you accomplished in your lives? Have you actually made a difference like Ted did? A work of advice, before you criticize Ted Kenndey, take a serious look at your own lives before you open your mouths or express your opinion. Sometimes is is better NOT to say anything at all.By Beth

Yes, Moose, he was a giant but it was from gorging himself with food and drink. He was a fairly pathetic, rich person with a brother that was president. Hah, misguided, evil comments…I don’t think so.By dave

The man was a drunk, who never held a full time job in his life. Born into millions, where else could he find an easier job than U S Senator. A job that was bought for him just like his brother JFK.By Ethel S.

I did not realize that Sen. Kennedy wrote the No Child Left Behind (No child left a dime) Law until the memorial service. That law certainly did not help children or the schools. It basically needs revamping and was really expensive to run. If you want to Kennedy’s name on the current Healthcare Law pending, it will be a flop too. The idea that the Dems want to rush through our healthcare and the most personal decisions we make in our lifetimes is absolutely disgraceful. Healthy debate about Healthcare is one of the things that the Tea Parties have helped to get dialogue going between the people and the government officials. How well do you think Sec. Brunner and Lt. Gov. Fisher would listen?By moose7276

Just keep on working on it as before. Forget Kennedy. Lush, philanderer & murderer.
