AP: Keno not bringing in as much as expected

According to the Associated Press, the Ohio Lottery says its Keno game fell far short of revenue projects in its first full year.

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland had counted on Keno to show a profit of $73 million as a way to prevent deep cuts in education funding. Lottery figures show that the game yielded $30 million during the year that ended July 31.

The announcement comes as Strickland is counting on another gambling plan to prop up Ohio’s budget. The governor hopes to raise $933 million by putting video slot machines at racetracks. Also, Ohio voters will vote in November on a plan to put four casinos in Ohio. The proposal calls for casinos in Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus and Cincinnati.

When will Ohio wake up and see what a waste Gov Strickland is. His promises are failures. He has used lottery program to open casinos at race tracks. He “balanced” the budget with projected income from the slots at tracks. Now we see that Keno has failed to bring in expected funds. So how does he make up majic funds from race slots? His program has already been sued because 18 year olds can gamble under slot law. Have to be 21 under ballot proposal.

Hmmm… Not enough money going to keno? I wonder why? When i went into the local bar to play, first off, the bartender does not want to mess with it, he doesn’t make any money off it. he made me feel like it was more of a hassle to do it, he prefer to pour me a drink and make a buck, every four minutes i have to call him back to place another bet! and we ask ourselves why isn’t it working? Besides me and a friend we were the only ones in the bar? why? hmm…no smoking perhaps? no job for the money to play? oh wait it’s OK, we’ll just allow gambling now that we’ re broke!!! hypocrites!

Now, everybody go into your local Keno operating restaurants and bars, unbolt the flat panel “Kenovision” TVs and take them home. Think of them as your personal gift to yourself for the gubmint’s use of your tax dollars.

What is the problem? I thought all of you who don’t want gambling in “pure as the driven snow” Ohio, now the complaint is not enough are gambling. So I guess it just goes to show that people don’t go out and wreck their lives on Keno. Be happy.

Don’t worry, the Casinos will cover the shortage. Maybe people have wised up that the OH lottery only returns 42 cents on the dollar. In Vegas, a game that rigged is illegal.

Couldn’t have said it any better! That’s why when I do play the lottery (which isn’t often), I only play $2 at a time. If you’re going to win, you’re going to win, whether you play $1 or $50! We don’t need another Las Vegas or Atlanta!

And yet again the gub’mint is sucking the working class dry by pandering to the dream of easy riches as a way to exist from day to miserable f*cking day. Meanwhile, not doing a damn thing to pull this economic wasteland of a state out of the terminal illness of outsourcing while creating nothing but service level jobs. When a Government relies solely on the vices and taxations of the constituency to fund itself, it’s time to tear it down and start from scratch. b*tches.
