Lottery Director Dolan quits

With Ohio preparing to put video slot machines at the state’s seven racetracks, the man who was supposed to oversee this operation has resigned.

Gov. Ted Strickland on Tuesday, Aug. 4, said he had accepted lottery director Michael Dolan’s resignation. Dolan will continue to serve as director until Strickland appoints a successor, a press release said.

“Mike’s work at the Ohio Lottery Commission over the past two years has truly benefited the state of Ohio,” Strickland said in the press release.

“Recently, Mike effectively completed the Lottery’s transition to a new vendor that will save the state $20 million per year. There is no doubt that this transition was the most significant project the Lottery has undertaken in 10 years and Mike’s leadership drove the project to a successful completion.”

Strickland said he accepted the resignation “with deep appreciation for his service to me and the state of Ohio.”

Why would they leave in the middle of a job. I thought lottery was to help our schools so why are so many schools laying off so many teachers and leaving parents to pay for all activities doesnt make sense to me. www.money-burge.com

Dolan probably doesn’t need to work after the kickback he got for awarding a contract to a company from outside the U.S.

As a Lottery retailer, I can say that the transition to the new gaming system has been anything but smooth. Still significant bugs to be worked out. The Director is leaving at an odd time, with much work to be done, and many questions to be answered about his role in the selection of the new vendor and his activities which got him into hot water in the first place. Not reported locally, but check him out online in the news. Hand in the cookie jar???

People…stop being so negative…seriously. The reason you’re all so miserable has a lot to do with the negative energy you emit with your bad ‘the sky is falling’ attitudes.

The odds are you’ll lose money if you live in southwestern Ohio.Don’t believe me,just check the rolling cash five winners list, that why I don’t play the game.Using the stat’s just from that game tells you that your way more likely to win it if you live in northern ohio than here.
