Obama’s approval rating drops in Ohio
A new poll finds that President Barack Obama’s approval rating has dropped in Ohio to the lowest approval rating he’s had in the state since he was inaugurated.
Obama had a 49-44 percent approval rating in Ohio, down from 62-31 percent in a May 6 survey by Quinnipiac University, which regularly polls Ohio because it is a swing state.
Ohioans also disapproved of the way Obama is handling the economy by a 48 to 46 percent, down from a 57 to 36 percent margin May 6.
Sixty-six percent of Ohioans, meanwhile, are “somewhat dissatisfied” or “very dissatisfied” with the way things are going in the state.
The poll also found Democrats Lee Fisher and Jennifer Brunner are virtually tied for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring U.S. Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio.

I see a 1-term President here. Anyone remember Jimmy Carter? 18% mortgage rates? Massive job losses that caused 40-year olds to turn to flipping burgers? All of you Liberal, Geo Bush bashers…. take a really good look at your history, take a really good look at where all of this started (with Clinton), and take a really good look at Bush’s downfall — it started with the 2006 Liberal takeover in the House and Senate. You’re getting the change you wanted. Choke on it you clowns!By Pete

Even that two faced Colin Powell is worried because of the out of control spending by this Congress and BO. And Helen Thomas, the WH reporter, commented on how BO tries to control his press conferences. BO always had a pattern of not taking responsibility for things when he was campaigning. He even threw his grandmother, his minister, his church, campaign financing reform, and FISA,under the bus. If the Iraqi War turns out successful, BO will take credit and if things fall apart when the troops withdraw, it is GWB’s fault. All BO likes to do is read off his teleprompter and tell everyone he won. Then complain he cannot get bipartisan support. And the spending, borrowing, printing, debt into the next three generations, and taxes are so overwhelming and it is did not even help to solve one problem. Because his programs have not produced very much success, it is hard to be impressed by his leadership so far.By Ken

Now you have a guy in office who wanted the job, ran for the office for nearly 2 years. Said he didnt realize things the way they were, and how could he? one more thing, if I hear Obama say one more time, “due to our predecessor we had to deal with things” Dude, quit making excuses, you are the leader and whether we like it or not you can not show weakness. How fascinating! During the last eight years anyone who said anything against Bush was branded a traitor and unpatriotic. We were all supposed to support the President no matter what. Now that the tables have turned, it is open season on a new leader who has been in office less than a year. Christina, what are you smoking. I am a neutral voter but to say Clinton was not involved is irresponsible. Yes things appeared nice on the surface but underneath, fannie mae and freddie mac were not being regulatied, derivatives on the market were unprotected, sub prime was being allowed and we were funding afghanistan. Did you know Clinton had a chance at Bin Laden and passed on it, even far left michael moore states that in his documntary. When things were so good no one stopped to ask why we all just put out our hands. As for Bush, he made alot of mistakes too. He didnt correct the fannie mae thing and he turned up his nose at the unregulated markets too, however in his defense he had a democratic congress holding the votes and 9/11 dropped in his lap. If anything I did feel safe when he was president and right now I feel like everyone is lining up to take their shot at obama. I did not want to vote for obama nor mcain but I felt mccain was the lessor of two default candidates, but our media felt inclined to make this election about “Change” and appearance and not about what was right for th country. What is even scarier is that our lackluster government failed to give us a candidate worthy of our votes so what happens a person wins by default and media bias. Change for worse is ahead.By David

Christina how much do you think is fair to tax the wealthier people? Right now the top 5% pay over 50 % of all income taxes. Raising taxes on the rich will not help…they are the business owners that employee people like you and me and if they cant make money without getting penalized then there is no incentive to achieve more. It is not up to the wealthy to sustain the less fortunate…its called personal responsibility. Do you know what a vast amount of the stimulus money has gone to? Social Services…Summer programs for inner city youth…how does that help the economy? It doesn’t…it just dumps more money into areas that will suck the government and its people dry.By obbama

Everyone wants more job growth. There is a plan that is THE ANSWER!! It’s called the FAIR TAX (www.fairtax.org). It solves eveything. It eliminates the IRS and repeals the 16th amendment. You keep what you earn,no income tax= more money to spend/save/use as you wish. Check out the website and learn something. We have to take power away from the government. Learn about it before you attack it. It creates jobs, the economy would skyrocket. America would become a tax haven for business to build here instead of overseas. Please THE FAIR TAX is the answer.By RamblinMan

Christina - How much money has President Obama spent in these first 5 months compared to how much both Clinton and Bush spent during their terms? Please stop pointing figures and blaming Bush. Come up with a solution and write your Congress person. Remember, they work for you, me and every tax payer. It’s easy to play arm-chair political QB, but please be a part of the solution and not part of the problem. I disagree with the direction this country is headed. Everyone that “pays taxes” should be getting a break. Small government is better. Rely on yourself, help others when you can, and fear big government.By P P J

You people who want to say “Oh, give Obama a chance, its only been 5 months”. The problem is, in 5 months he has made things so much worse. Sure, things take time, but it took him no time at all to spend trillions, and for what, a bill no one read. No one had time, but Obama said, we MUST pass the stimulus to keep unemployment from goint to 9 percent. So, they DID pass this terrible bill, and unemployment is even higher! Go ahead, defend Obama. Young and talented himself just said..” the real power lies in congress, not the president. So if you want to blame anyone blame them.” Most democrats forget that Bush had a Democratic congress for his last few years….imagine that right? And to Christina…you are exactly whats wrong with this country. The middle class are great people, just like myself. We work hard every day and make the world turn. But the rich are people who are innovaters, have for the most part spent years of their life working their way up, or are extraordinarily talented. Why should they be punished for their dedication or talents? If you chose to be a doctor, lawyer, Business CEO, athlete, and dedicated your life to those trades, wouldnt you want to be compensated accordingly without being punished? Just like most obama followers….mad at the world for making themselves better.By trixie

christina why should the achievers get punished for working hard? That is what you are saying, tax those who worked their butts off, really gives you incentive to want to do well, doesn’t it? When we were under Bill Clinton, the economy was good. Those who say Bill Clinton was a bad president was prob some rich snob who was getting taxed more and you should!!! Why should the middle class hard working people pay for all the rich peoples taxes. Second, Clinton did not leave a mess for Bush. Bush created his own mess. Doesn’t anyone remember his fathers famous saying? “no new taxes” yet he brought them forth. So then Little Bush decides wth, let’s go start a war where he knew darn well Osama was not occupying. So you all want to get mad because only 5 months into office Obama hasn’t been able to fix anything. The math does not add up. 8 years of office and turmoil versus 5 months trying to clean up after Bush. Do the math, give the guy a chance, and shut the hell up.
