Photo of the Week: Nick does the nose pick at soccer practice

Nick sneaks a pick at soccer practice

He has been asking for weeks, “Do we have soccer today?” and I’ve had to tell him “No, not yet.”

That is until the end of July when soccer practice finally ensued. My youngest son Nicholas finally was able to strap on his shin guards, gather up his size 3 pee-wee soccer ball and head to the fields.

After an hour of running, dribbling and kicking in the warm summer sun, the team of youngsters plopped down in the grass for a few words with Coach Debbie. For the most part they listened - at least as well as preschoolers can be expected to listen.

But for my child, sitting and listening wasn’t enough. Apparently, he hears better with his finger up his nose. Thus, up the nose it went, oblivious to the teammates, coaches and parents around.

“Nick! Nick! Stop it!” I hissed from the sides. But I couldn’t help from laughing … one of many comical moments I am sure is to come from the wide world of pee-wee sports.
