New president selected

Madison school board members pulled a switch in leadership for 2009.

School boards select a president at their first meeting in January every year. That person is the visible leader of the board and responsible for efficient and legal business, according to the Ohio School Boards Association.

Madison chose former vice president Tim Young to serve as president in 2009. Former president Glenn Cappel will serve as vice president for the year.

The Middletown Board of Education will select a president for 2009 at their meeting Monday, Jan. 12. Franklin and Carlisle are keeping the same leadership.
