When is a bicycle like a car? When the driver is drunk
ENGLEWOOD Aug. 26 A man on a bicycle was stopped in the area of Tully Lane and Valley View Drive after an officer observed him riding erratically and without a working headlight or a flashing, red light.
The subject had to hold onto his bike and a nearby garage to keep from losing his balance. He staggered over to the officer and was asked where he was going.
The officer smelled the odor of alcohol when the subject replied that he was going home. He admitted to having three or four beers at a friend’s house.
The officer asked if he had been driving a car, would it be safe for him to drive it in his current condition. The subject said no.
He was arrested for operating a vehicle intoxicated.
