Young driver, 14, taken home from behind the wheel
ENGLEWOOD June 25 A patrolling officer observed a driver fail to stop at a flashing red light at Taywood and West Wenger roads and initiated a stop. The male driver was unable to provide the officer with a license but said he had his “temps.” The officer asked him if his passenger had a valid license and the driver said no. He told the officer he was 14. The vehicle was towed and the juvenile was put in handcuffs and placed in the cruiser. Attempts to locate his mother were unsuccessful, so the detention center was contacted. The officer was told the center couldn’t accept the juvenile on traffic charges even though he was on probation. The juvenile was cited for the traffic violations, informed of his court date and escorted to his residence.

Imagine that the mother could not be located. Maybe that has something to do with the unruliness of her son.By LJ
