Hey, I think that guy has stolen my vehicle

DAYTON March 11 A complainant reported he drove to the 3000 block of West Cornell Woods Drive the day before to meet a known male interested in buying his vehicle. The complainant didn’t get the male’s driver’s license before allowing him to test drive the vehicle. The male said he was going to drive it through the parking lot to determine if he liked it or not. After about 10 minutes had passed, the subject called the complainant and said that he was on Hoover Avenue and that the police had pulled him over and were towing the vehicle. The complainant asked to speak to the officer and the subject put someone on the phone who said the vehicle was being towed because there was no title. The complainant told police he believed his vehicle was towed, so the next day he went to the Dayton Police to get the vehicle released. That’s when he learned it was never towed. The complainant checked with surrounding jurisdictions and learned they hadn’t towed the vehicle, either. The vehicle was gone for about 29 hours at the time of the report. The subject was charged with driving without consent.
