Jar full of charity money stolen from game store
DAYTON March 12 A manager at Game Crazy, 3010 Harshman Road, called police after a male ran out of the store carrying something. The manager didn’t know what was taken but saw a red object in the subject’s hand. He was able to get the license plate number from the subject’s vehicle, and officers responded to the registered address. The subject was located and stopped while driving in the 2000 block of Fifth Street. He confessed and said he stole the donation box that was on the counter in Game Crazy. The charity is the Starlight Children’s Foundation. The box was found, broken, on Monument Street, where the subject said he threw it out. Pamphlets about the charity were also in the vicinity of the box. The money that was recovered totaled $92.29. It was returned to the manager. The subject was transported to jail for theft.
