Miami falls to Toledo
Toledo defeated Miami 63-61 in tonight’s Mid-American Conference men’s basketball game at Millett Hall.
The RedHawks, who had trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half, had the ball in the final 10 seconds but could not get off a shot.
Julian Mavunga led Miami with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Brian Sullivan added 13 points.
Toledo’s Rian Pearson led all scorers with 23 points and Curtis Dennis, who hit a crucial 3-pointer with 1:00 left and came up with a steal in the closing seconds, added 17 points for the Rockets.

The Miami RedHawks trail the Toledo Rockets 33-27 at halftime of their Mid-American Conference game tonight at Millett Hall.
Miami trailed by as many as 14 points but finished the half on an 8-0 run with a pair of 3-point baskets by Brian Sullivan and two free throws by Adam Thomas, the former Springboro High grad who has four points off the bench.
Sullivan leads Miami with nine points, hitting 3-of-5 shots from the 3-point arc.
Toledo’s Rian Pearson leads all scorers with 11 points.
