Some comments from Charlie
Miami University basketball coach Charlie Coles doesn’t mind using hyperbole for dramatic effect.
Last Wednesday night he told reporters at the Kent State post-game press conference “We might very well not win another game” following the RedHawks’ 71-67 loss.
Miami had led for most of the game before being outscored 13-2 over the final 5 minutes, 45 seconds by the Golden Flashes, who were picked in the preseason poll to win it all in the Mid-American Conference this season.
Coles also doesn’t mind changing gears from reverse to fast forward.
“I’ve got to convince my guys, (whose) heads were down in the locker room, and I’m not buying into that, man, we’ve got a thousand games left,” he said. “We’ve got to get better. That’s what we’ll try to do.”
