Get $5 off your $50 order at Target

I love Target, they have such great deals and right now they are even better thanks to this coupon.

Right now when you click this link you can get a pop-up ad including a coupon for $5 off your order of $50 or more at Target. After the pop-up appears, the discount is automatically taken off at check-out, but make sure you have your browser set to accept Target.com pop-ups to get the deal.

Several categories offer free shipping when you spend $50 so this could be a sweet deal. Check it out. This offer expires June 30.

Another discount note, if you are a military member or veteran, you can also get 10% off at Home Depot or Lowe’s when you show your military ID at check-out.

Facebook: The future of freebies

Social networking sites are quickly becoming the wave of the future when it comes to freebies.

As someone who is constantly connected and communicating as part of her career, I’ll admit I was a little resistant to the plethora of Facebook freebie offers that began cropping up. I had avoided creating a profile because I preferred to connect to people in other formats, such as e-mail, phone calls, texting and the good ol’ face-to-face conversation.

But with most retailers and brands creating Facebook fan pages for their offers, I felt it was time to make the move if I didn’t want to miss out.

I have seen all sorts of offers pop up on this social media site, from socks and lip gloss to food and entertainment. After spending some time adding friends, searching product sites and signing up for freebies, I can report the process is simple, easy and well worth it if you enjoy finding your mail box filled up with free offers.

A word of caution, though, with this new form of getting free merchandise: not every offer is legitimate. I try to post items on this blog I believe to be truthful, therefore not every free offer available makes its way to this site.

Facebook offers that require you to “Like” the author and fill out a form appear to be legitimate, just make sure you check their news posts for any updates that sample supplies have been depleted. People who want you to “friend” them and leave a comment to receive a freebie tend to be just looking for fans. I have found most often “freebie comments” never come, and you have opened yourself up to a slew of unwanted advertising on your personal page by signing up. The exception would be bloggers running contests.

Check out a couple of these latest freebie offers on Facebook available while supplies last.

Get a free NeilMed NasaFlo Neti Pot. Visit NeilMed Neti Pot and “Like” them to receive this free product, which is meant to help you clear your sinuses. You’ll also have to take a short survey to receive the item.

Get a free sample of tuna and tuna salad from The Queen of the Coast premium seafood cuisine by visiting Raphael’s Facebook page, the brand ambassador. “Like” Raphael’s page and go to the MyContest tab. Click on the blue “Enter Now to Win” button, then scroll down to the “Want Free Tuna? Click Here!” link at the bottom of the page to sign up. You don’t have to enter the contest to get the freebies.

Suave was giving away free shampoo, but now that they’ve run out you can still get a coupon for $1 off Suave Professional hair care products here. The coupon is e-mailed to you after you register.

Go to Facebook here and get your free Dr. Scholl’s For Her Insole.

Click here to get free hair care samples from Aveeno. You must become a fan to receive the freebie and allow an Aveeno application to be added to your profile.

Grab a free McCafe with purchase

Right now at your local McDonald’s, be sure to pick up your free small frappe McCafe with any purchase. I saw the deal in an online ad, so I am not sure how long it lasts.

McCafe comes in a variety of flavors, the frappe being the cold version. They are pretty tasty but will keep you wired, so I advice not drinking one if you want to sleep in the next five hours.

Check out all the flavors available here. My favorite is the mocha.
