Enjoy these free activities and more this weekend

It may be another gloomy weekend, but there are plenty of free things to do around town to enjoy when the weather keeps you inside.

Through Monday, go online and download your coupon for a free Cacique panty from Lane Bryant. There is a Lane Bryant store at Bridgewater Falls, 3425 Princeton Rd. Fairfield Twp.

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. today, May 1, take the kids to your area Home Depot to make a picket fence planter courtesy of the monthly “How-To” Workshop. This event is free and in addition to the project, your child will receive a free apron and goggles while supplies last.

Lowe’s is also offering a great free project for the kids through their Build and Grow Clinic. From 10-11 a.m., head to your local Lowe’s to build a school house in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. Kids will also receive a free pair of apron and goggles while supplies last. You must register with the store to participate.

Mark your calendars for the Build and Grow Clinic next Saturday, May 8, where the kids can build a trellis planter for Mom just in time for Mother’s Day, May 9. For more information on either Lowe’s workshop or to register for the events, visit lowesbuildandgrow.com.

If the weather holds up, consider heading to the Neighborhood Spring Clean-up in Hamilton. The effort begins at 8 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m.

    Locations include:
  • North End Athletic Fields
  • Bailey Square at Second and Chestnut streets.
  • The old Roosevelt School at 13th and Walnut streets.
  • HeavenSent, 2269 Pleasant Ave.
  • The Presbyterian Church, near Front and High streets.
  • In German Village, at 131 Village St.
  • Partners in Prime near Ross and B streets.

The city will be providing shirts, work gloves and trash bags at meeting sites. Participants are asked to bring shovels, rakes and additional tools for this free event.
