Trade in your old electronics for cash

Now you can get something for that old i-Pod you never use!

Walmart has started a new program where they will send you a Walmart Prepaid Visa gift card if you give them your old electronics. How much you get is determined by the category your electronics fit into. There are more than 20 categories to choose from. You must ship the item to Walmart to get the gift card, but shipping is free.

The categories include: Cell Phones and PDA’s, Camera and Photo, Computers and Peripherals, Video Games, GPS Devices, MP3 and Audio Players and Movies and Media.

Read all about the program and find out how to ship out your old electronics to get the Walmart gift cards here.

I did a couple tests on the site and it looks like they will only take certain items if they work (i.e. are not broken or will turn on). You have to enter a search of each item individually and submit it to find out how much you will get for it.

A lot of the items are for more than $10 so if you have a lot of old electronics, this could be a good money-maker PLUS you don’t have to worry about payment coming through when you sell it on something like eBay or Craigslist.
