Event helps first-time homebuyers receive tax credit
The clock is ticking for first-time homebuyers wanting to cash in on the $8,000 federal tax credit available for new homeowners, as the credit expires Nov. 30. In response to the flurry of activity, Cincinnati MLS, Northern Kentucky MLS, and the Southeastern Indiana MLS are sponsoring a Super Weekend of Open Houses.
The regional event will help facilitate home shopping with Realtors showcasing as many as 2,500 MLS listed properties throughout Greater Cincinnati, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana. The event will take place Sept. 12-13, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hours will vary from property to property.

Event gives guidance to job seekers
The 225 Job Support Group will meet at 9 a.m. Sept. 14 to offer support and encouragement for job seekers.
Rev. Dr. Peggy Garrison will lead a program on “What Do You Do Now That Everyone Has Gone Back to School?” The event will include helpful tips on starting or reactivating your job search.
The meeting will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 225 Ludlow St., in Hamilton. Coffee and tea will be served at 9 a.m. with the program beginning at 9:30 a.m. For more information, call (513) 896-5683.
