Happy Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day!
Today is the 38th annual celebration of the planet we call home, and a day to step back and think about things we can do to preserve and restore our natural resources…
So that’s the official line on Earth Day, but I want to know: what do YOU think about Earth Day?
Is it a time to reflect on accomplishments?
A time to call for more action?
Or something in-between?
Send a post, let us know, then go outside and do something good for the planet.

You know when you’re a commuter when…
First off, sorry for the three-day hiatus in posts. Sometimes life gets in the way of things, even those as important as the Living Green blog.
But I have a funny story to make up for it.
This morning, I was running my usual five minutes late to get out the door for work. After walking the dogs, scarfing down a bowl of cereal and taking a quick look to make sure I wasn’t too disheveled, I ran out the door, grabbed my bike and took off for the office.
Half way to work, I realized I forgot something.
As a reporter, fast transportation is critical, especially in a season of heavy traffic and almost daily accidents. When I ride my bike to work, I keep my car at the office for breaking news runs.
But in my rush to get to work, I instinctively reached for the bike, leaving my car sitting at home.
Funny what happens when you pick up a new habit.

You know you’re a commuter…when you spend more time in bicycle maintenance (washing/polishing)than your car.
