Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

Today is the 38th annual celebration of the planet we call home, and a day to step back and think about things we can do to preserve and restore our natural resources…

So that’s the official line on Earth Day, but I want to know: what do YOU think about Earth Day?

Is it a time to reflect on accomplishments?

A time to call for more action?

Or something in-between?

Send a post, let us know, then go outside and do something good for the planet.

UC helps rank clean cities

A colleague sent me an article yesterday from ABC News/Forbes.com. It’s not the most original thing on the planet; Google “America’s cleanest cities,” “America’s dirtiest cities,” or a similar phrase and you’ll find a slew of articles.

This one struck me, though, because our own University of Cincinnati assisted with the statistical analysis.

Take a look at the story and related content. What do you think about it? From what I could see, our area’s not listed as absolute worst, but our state is sandwiched between two states ranked as pretty darn dirty.

On a lighter note, Spring looks like it’s finally turning the corner (now that I’ve written that, we’ll get snow, of course). I’m looking forward to getting out of the car and onto the bike for my commute. Stay tuned for more on that…
