Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

Today is the 38th annual celebration of the planet we call home, and a day to step back and think about things we can do to preserve and restore our natural resources…

So that’s the official line on Earth Day, but I want to know: what do YOU think about Earth Day?

Is it a time to reflect on accomplishments?

A time to call for more action?

Or something in-between?

Send a post, let us know, then go outside and do something good for the planet.

What we talk about when we talk green living

While thinking about how to launch this blog, I thought it might be good to start with a discussion of definitions.

“Green Living” is a rather wide topic, if you think about it.

I started the blog because I want to hit a wide range of topics. So that we’re all singing from the same songbook, here are a few links that might help show where I’m going.

I want to touch on the politics of environmentalism, as well as the cutting edge of green technology. On a more local level, I want to look at ways to live with a smaller ecological footprint (more on that tomorrow). And if a green idea seems a bit fishy, I want to get to the bottom of it; as much as one journalist in one newsroom can, at least.

Speaking of fishy ideas, any thoughts on the garbage bloggers from Friday’s post? How far is too far to go in the name of Ma Nature?
