Global education
A local parent introduced me to the Global Center Greater Cincy / World Affairs Council. This group co-chaired the Ohio Department of Education’s International Education Advisory Council and drafted a strategic plan to address the issues that American students aren’t performing up to par with students globally.
One of the four goals of the advisory council addresses Global Systems: Ohio’s education system is benchmarked against the highest performing systems in the world. Ohio educators are connected to communities of practice that extend around the globe and that bring innovative ideas and practices to schools. Her organization’s mission is to help teachers and schools prepare students to enter a globally competitive world. They do this by providing international programs for students and teacher training. They have a u-tube video that points to the disparity between our education system and that of other countries http://www.globalcincinnati.org .
