Xenia Key Club, Bellbrook Lions Club team up
The following is a release from Xenia H.S.:
The Xenia Key Club will co-sponsor with the Bellbrook Lions Club for the Walter G. Sellers Memorial Trophy. Both teams will be receiving the awards for outstanding play for the Friday night contest (Best Offensive, Best Defensive, Special Teams, Scout Player and Leadership Award) and the winning team keeps the trophy for one year.
The trophy is named for the Late Walter G. Sellers, Greene County Community Leader and the first African-American to be elected International President of Kiwanis international. Mr. Sellers passed away in 2008.
The presentation will happen right after the game. Xenia leads the series 2-1.
Coordinators of the Walter G.Sellers Memorial Trophy Football Game are Key Club Division 4 Past Lt. Gov Joseph Gregory, Xenia Faculty Advisor and Kiwanian Janean Cardenas, Xenia Kiwanis Advisor and Kiwanian Jo Carman, Kiwanian Vermon L. Dillon and from the Bellbrook Lions Club President Tad Barnes and Treasurer Rick Robertson.
