TweetSpringboro hires longtime district employee as athletic director
Rick Creager, a longtime Springboro Community City Schools teacher and coach, has been hired as the district’s new athletic director.
The school board made the hiring official during a special meeting on Monday. He succeeds Troy Holtrey, who served as both boys basketball coach and athletic director for the past three years. Holtrey announced he would resign as athletic director in the spring to spend more time with his family, and he is expected to remain boys basketball coach and a teacher at the high school.
Creager is a member of the Springboro Hall of Fame in honor of his years coaching the school’s girls basketball and softball teams. He has been with the Springboro school district for 30 years.
