CJ names Scott Pierce interim AD

DAYTON — Scott Pierce was named interim athletic director at Chaminade Julienne High School on Wednesday.

He has been a CJ teacher for 10 years and also is an assistant football coach. Former AD Jon Payne left earlier this month to accept the AD position at Fairborn.

“He knows the kids as well as the expectations that our school’s mission places on the athletic program and our student athletes,” principal John Marshall said.

“He is the right person at this time to build on the growing opportunities and successes that make Eagle tradition like no other.”

Payne is working with Pierce to ensure a good transition.

“when people watch our teams play, I want them to continue to get a sense of what CJ is all about,” Pierce said.

“Through athletics, even more will have the opportunity to see what we instill in the kids as it is brought out in them on the field and courts.”

Good luck, Scotty. Watch your back with some of those anti-athletic weasels lurking in the administration and on board of directors.

I would prefer hearing about CJ’s scholastic plans. The region needs a top 100 national school and CJ is the best hope.

Great choice. Pierce is a good coach and teacher. Hopefully M & M will let him run the fields and they will run the halls. Otherwise, start looking for a replacement when they drive Pierce crazy.

Why do these schools keep hiring these guys who jump from one place to the next. Smerz went from Burg to Fairborn to Beavercreek. Payne from Monroe to WC to CJ to Fairborn. What ever happened to some loyalty and building a program?
