Place on Withrow: ‘This is it; I’m back’

Cincinnati is new to Jim Place. But as long as he’s coaching football, he’s home.

Place landed the head coach position at Withrow High School on Monday. That afternoon he met with players and assistants.

“I’m talking with 60-70 kids,” Place said on Tuesday.

“I say, do you have any questions? A kid stands up and says, coach Place, do you have a family? Do you have kids? I said, that was so nice of you to ask. I said to myself, I belong here. This is it; I’m back.”

He previously was the head coach at CJ, Beavercreek, Stebbins, Middletown, Springfield Northwestern and most previously Hamilton from 2006-09.
