DAYTON - Trotwood-Madison and Alter did their parts. Now, it’s up to Wayne and Eaton to follow suit.

Wayne (9-3) is just minutes away from its Division I, Region 4 high school football playoff final on Saturday vs. Cincinnati St. Xavier (7-4) at Welcome Stadium. Eaton (12-0) plays Columbus Hartley (10-2) in a D-III, Region 12 final at Mason also tonight.

The winners advance to next week’s state semifinals. Those game sites will be announced on Sunday.

On Friday, Trotwood advanced by hammering Kings 53-24 at Princeton to capture the D-II, Region 8 title. Alter did the same, knocking off Kenton 35-32 in a D-IV, Region 16 final at Wapakoneta.

The gives the immediate area at least two local teams remaining in the postseason. Should Wayne and Eaton win, it would give the Miami Valley a close rep in the first four divisions.

Also on Friday, Lehman Catholic beat Minster 27-14 to win a D-VI, Region 24 final at Piqua. Coldwater (9-3) wraps up today’s area contingent with a D-V, Region 20 final vs. West Jefferson (12-0) at Northmont.

Hold on Wayne? Whatever happened to unbiased media? You actually rooting for Wayne? No wonder you’re a writer in Dayton, OH and don’t have a job as a real journalist. Nice job, Pendleton.

Joe, that was a ‘holding’ penalty on Wayne, not a cheer. Go find another blog to scrutinize

Hey ??, sorry I’m not as intelligent as you are. Perhaps the idiot who wrote it should have written “holding on Wayne.” Or maybe he doesn’t know how to spell long words. And by the way, you’re a dooshbag.

We should be very proud of Wayne Warriors. Unfortunatly I still think about the underdogs on the team that haven’t been on the field. I’m alway looking at my book that list all the team players and their numbers. It’s hard to imagine feeling the true victory without touching the field. Come on Coach! At least give them 5 min. on the field. Do they come to practice everyday? Give them a chance. I will continue to be a supportive of Wayne Warriors but I would like to see fairness!

Life is not fair and neither is football. The best players play and the others participate in practice to help the team get ready and are on standby if needed. They are every bit apart of this run as the starters.

Jack, are you kidding me?? These kids aren’t playing peewee football anymore. Do you really think Jay is going to play kids that aren’t as good as the ones that are playing just so they can feel good about themselves? That’s not how life works. If you are good enough you will find the field. If not work a bit harder. Life lesson my friend, life lesson.

These past 2 Saturday Div I play-off games have been great! At the Centerville - Wayne game, I had Fairmont fans setting behind me cheering for Wayne, and at the St. Xavier - Wayne game I have Centerville fans setting beside me cheering for Wayne. This is what is all about.
