Wes Wilson, a Lake senior cornerback, returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the regional final victory on Friday.

Lake RB Jim Luther, a 6-foot-1, 181-pound senior, rushed for 166 yards in the playoff opener, 246 yards on 38 carries in the regional semifinal and 84 yards on 15 carries in the regional final.

Lake coach Jeff Durbin is in his 21st season and has helped Lake to five regional championships, the last coming in 1999. His 26-year-old son, Luke, is the team’s defensive coordinator.

Rams continue to play for each other and continue to be humble. I am so proud of the players and the coaching staff for taking the program to another level this year.

I can support any team who put others before self. Humility will server you much longer than a state title. Good luck to all the players. Go Lake.

I fully agree with you about humility. I have no idea how you connected it to this game. Or, to any football game these days. Very little humility left in football any more. I have know Coach Douglas since he was a kid. No one care’s any more for his players than Douglas. The A.D. at Trotwood is Jim Ladd. Mr. Ladd is the definition of humility. As I said, I dont get your connection. Trotwood has earned it’s spot in the sun this week, as has Wayne, Alter and Coldwater. I will be rooting hard for all four this weekend.

Coach Douglas, I take my hat off to you because of your dedication to these young men at Trotwood. You came back to finish a goal you started in 1981 and you have arrived once again to finish it. To the young men of T-M, against all the nay sayers and those who have been on the opposing side of all that you have done on and off the field(silently and publicly)you have faired victoriously even when others doubted you. Know that this is your “to everything there is a season” and this is yours. Keep your head up and know that God is your strength and he can do anything but fail, trust in Him and have no doubt in yourselves. Be Victorious, you are already a winner. Go Rams, Go Warriors, go RED, White and Black!!!!! The blood, the purity, and the boldness. It’s what you are made of.

coach Douglas teaches his players to tackle like they teach players to tackle in the NFL. To lead with your head. If it was college they wouldn’t get a way with it as much.
