Douglass misses Trotwood loss

Maurice Douglass, the Trotwood-Madison football coach who was a talking point this week after he criticized officials following last Friday’s loss to Wayne, was not on the sidelines for tonight’s Trotwood loss to Springfield.

When approached by a reporter at halftime, Jim Ladd, the Trotwood athletic director, declined comment.

Trotwood assistant coach Jeff Graham served as head coach in the Rams’ 20-13 overtime loss that dropped them to 2-3.

We discussed Douglass’ comments in a post earlier this week that drew plenty of attention.

The rumor is that the school finally did suspend him for 4 games.

Like I said before. If he had been a white man he would have been fired. Whites people in general bend over backwards to not offend any blacks. Then the blacks end up gettign a free pass in everyhting.Double standard. Hapens all the time.

Trotwood needs a coach that is a positive leader and mentor. He is molding young men’s minds into thinking they get the short end of the stick because of the color of their skin. That is wrong and cowardly. Just because you played pro football doesn’t mean you can say whatever you want. What an awful choice for someone to mentor our youth.

NYC, nice. Way to not comment on the situation, and comment on the poster. Douglass is a racist, and that’s a fact. If TM had any class at all, he wouldve been fired. Instead, they condone his actions and comments. And I honestly dont disagree with what Fred said, as this entire situation is proof to backup his comments. But please, go ahead and pretend TM’s coach is a great coach, role model and human being. By all means.

If you don’t know him then don’t speak about him like you do. Marice might be wrong on how he handle the whole thing, but calling him a racist is going to far.My sons played for him, and I would have to say, he cares so much about these boys, that it change his personel life complete. Mr. Ladd did what he thought was right, Coach Doug, has to sit out 4 games. ANd the only one losing here is the boys. You can say what youwant about him, He cares about them boys. They don’t need coach D to tell them about race, they get followed evertime they step into a store, or pulled over because they looked like they weredoing something. Come on people we all no racist still is here

If TM was a respectable school they would have fired Coach Douglas last year and then again last week. But we all know that, that is not a fact. TM is not a respectable school and that Coach Douglas does not know how to stay out of trouble. Then some people try and stand up for him. He has never done anything at any level that he didn’t cheat at ever. I am sure it was someone else’s fault he took steroids in the NFL right? Because the guy giving the test didn’t look like him. But TM keeps this clown around and makes the entire community and school system look bad. But i guess why would they ever try and change their image any way right…….

anyone who thinks an official in highschool football does not lean toward one team over another on a given night is mistaken. wayne is big time football. trotwood is a wanna be. Has nothing to do with the color of one person. the trotwood coach has used the racist card before. not a good life lesson for his players. Coach Douglass, i have know you since you played peewee fotball at trotwood. you could not keep your mouth shut then and still can’t. It’s just sad for the young men who plays for you. You have let them down. I know you work hard for them, but now you are not there and they are gonna need you..

Folks for one let’s keep on point and the facts..all the remarks about his past are unecessary. Obvious wanabe athletes cause you don’t know how to fight fair! Everybody has a skelr=eyon or two in their closet or that wow, what was i thinking. He is a good coach and cares a lot about his kids. My son is a product and I am glad he had a coach D to add to his list of influential role models.
