Wayne-Glenville game moved to Friday night, Sept. 11, to avoid OSU-USC conflict

It’s official:

in one of the marquee games of the 2009 high school football season, Cleveland Glenville will play at Wayne on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, the game was moved to avoid conflict with the nationally-televised Ohio State-Southern Cal game on Saturday (8 p.m., ABC) at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.

The Glenville Tarblooders enter the season ranked fifth in the first National Prep Football Poll.

A member of the Cleveland Senate Athletic League, Glenville is coached by Ted Ginn Sr., father of former Ohio State star and current Miami Dolphins wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr.

Wayne is led by junior quarterback Braxton Miller, the No. 1-ranked player in Ohio for the Class of 2011.

I am so proud of my old high school. I graduated in June 1950 and never so Glenville win a Football championship. Now it is in the top of all High Schools in the country. How far it has come. Earl

I don’t know what National Poll has Glenville 5th. Not even in the Top 25 of USA Today National Poll. Maybe 5th in state?
