Trotwood-Madison star Jordan Paschal commits to University of Louisville

VERSATILE SENIOR-TO-BE

EXCITED ABOUT CARDINALS;

COULD MAKE QUICK IMPACT

ON THE VILLE’S SPECIAL TEAMS

Jordan Paschal will spend one more year as a Trotwood-Madison Ram, then he’ll spread his wings and fly away with the Louisville Cardinals.

The 5-foot-10, 182-pound cornerback gave Louisville head coach Steve Kragthorpe an oral commitment on Sunday, June 14, at the Cardinals’ development camp for high school seniors.

“Louisville’s a big school and it’s close to home,” said Paschal, who considered Indiana, Cincinnati, Akron and Central Michigan. “They’ve got a great coaching staff and nice facilities. It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m excited about my future.”

Paschal is a versatile player who earned first team All-GWOC North honors as a junior for the 2008 Rams (4-6), who won four of their final five games after an 0-5 start to capture the North division title (4-0).

He recorded three interceptions for 23 yards, including a long gain of 15, and added two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and a sack. The highlight of his season came against Wayne when he returned a fumble 94 yards for a touchdown.

Pascal also scored two offensive TDs — one rushing and one receiving. He’ll cover kicks at Louisville and be given a shot as the Cardinals’ punt returner.

“I’m quick and I’ll bring my (4.49) speed to the table,” he said. “I know I can impact special teams right away.

“To be a corner, you’ve got to be smart, have good footwork and hips. You’ve got to remember: The offense makes plays, too. For a corner, a short memory helps.”
