11 Dayton area players ready for NFL Draft
‘ELITE 11’ LOCAL DRAFT HOPEFULS
POISED FOR OPPORTUNITY IN NFL
• Todd Boeckman, QB, Ohio State (St. Henry) — Has the size, arm strength, accuracy and leadership teams look for. Projection: College free agent.
• Brock Bolen, FB, Louisville (Valley View) — This tough, durable rusher, receiver and blocker will make a nice H-back. Projection: College free agent.
• Greg Brown, DT, Indiana (Centerville) — Here’s a strong, steady performer who gets leverage and can push the pile. Projection: College free agent.
• David Bruton, FS, Notre Dame (Miamisburg) — Ball-hawking free safety with the speed and range to cover a lot of ground. Projection: Rounds 3-5.
• Dan Cline, DE, Western Kentucky (Centerville) — A classic late-blooming workaholic, he knows how to rush the QB. Projection: College free agent.
• Marcus Freeman, LB, Ohio State (Wayne) — Physical, athletic and versatile, he’s expected to make an immediate impact. Projection: Rounds 2-3.
• Brandon Harrison, CB, Michigan (Chaminade Julienne) — A hard-hitting DB with the ability to play corner and safety. Projection: College free agent.
• Mike Mickens, CB, Cincinnati (Wayne) — UC’s career INTs leader (14) is a brilliant performer in press and zone coverage. Projection: Rounds 2-3.
• Clayton Mullins, LB, Miami (Fairborn) — The two-time All-MAC first-teamer was the heart and soul of RedHawks’ ‘D.’ Projection: College free agent.
• Greg Orton, WR, Purdue (Wayne) — Highly-productive receiver with great height, long arms and super body control. Projection: College free agent.
• Javon Ringer, TB, Michigan St. (Chaminade Julienne) — The swift, strong TD maker is out to prove he’s best back in draft. Projections: Rounds 2-4.
