D-I Final: La Salle 42, Centerville 37
The Division I portion of the boys high school basketball state tournament will go on without the Centrville Elks this year.
The last D-I team standing from the Miami Valley just went down.
Danny McElroy scored 14 points — 10 in the second half — to lead Cincinnati La Salle to a 42-37 victory over the Elks in the D-I regional semifinal nightcap at Xavier University’s Cintas Center on Wednesday night.
Matt Kavanaugh led Centerville (21-4) with 14 points while Mike Griffin had 13.
Ryan Fleming had 11 points and point guard Jordon Crawford added 8 for the Lancers (23-2), who face Princeton (23-1) for the regional title on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Cintas Center, home of the Xavier Musketeers.
The lead changed hands several times in the second half, but the Lancers delivered down the stretch for the mighty GCL.

Elks couldn’t hold lead in 4th quarter. Missed too many shots in last 4 minutes. LaSalle made theirs.By Pops

Guess Centerville spent to much on the officials at their last game..By Diane

I totally agree noneya. I was at that tournament game and I’m not a fan of either team but it was clear that something was a little fishy. LaSalle played a great game against Wayne, who I was routing for, and I’m glad they won, congratulations guys!!By you're an idiot

Diane you must honestly be the worst basketball fan if anything looked fishy to you. Lasalle better not celebrate too much before they get dryhumped all over the court against Princeton on SaturdayBy seriously?

Are you serious? Do you know how unintelligent that sounds? You know that is why there are stereotypes…By Fredo

Have never seen worse fans than the Elk fan base at Cintas. 50 year old women chanting “air-ball” at Lasalle players. All the fans stand and yell whenever the opposing team made a mistake. And your coach is a real a**e-hole.
