Name change for Eagles

It’s official: The school formerly known as Chaminade-Julienne has dropped the hyphen. It is now CJ or Chaminade Julienne.

School officials decided to lose the connector last year. But that was never passed on to the local media until this month.

The former Chaminade (all boys) and Julienne (all girls) high schools merged 35 years ago, and had always included the hyphen between the names. No more.

“Usually, when you have a hypen it’s indicative of two people who want their own identity and coexists, CJ communications coordinator Tina Wagoner said recently.

“We’re in a wonderful relationship. Truly, we’re one community.”
