Northmont DB Johnson won’t play Saturday
Northmont High School starting defensive back Xavior Johnson — a 6-foot, 186-pound junior — won’t play in Saturday’s Division I, Region 4 semifinal football game against Cincinnati Elder.
Northmont Athletics Director Robin Spiller said Thursday, Nov. 6 that disciplinary action had been taken by the school against a student, but would not elaborate nor confirm the name of the student.
Thunderbolts coach Lance Schneider spoke only about his football team, saying of Johnson: “He violated team rules, so he’s done.”

This will hurt the team BUT finally rules are being inforced!! Hopefully this will make a statement to other players. When rules are not followed, action is taken. Way to go Coach and AD. Good Luck Bolts!! You can do it!!By Parent

This likely came down through the administration which probably means it is grade related. Northmont has a weekly eligibility check based on your grades. Schneider likely had nothing to do with the suspension. It’s not like he is known for being a disciplinarian.By Clayton Buck

Coach?, way to make a blind assumption that is way off base. Schneider was the one to discipline the kid for lockerroom theft. Selfish, selfish act and he deserves to be kicked off the team.By coach?

I am glad to hear the young man isn’t in academic trouble. I hate that he is in trouble at all. My comment wasn’t so much about the young man as Schneider. This issue must have gotten out of the locker room and into the hands of the administration for him to be booted from the team. I just don’t see Schneider doing it before a big game. A 3rd string guy, maybe, but not a starter.By 12penguins

new Northmont Principal George Caras is a no nonsense person. He is an extraordinary person, an outstanding administrator and a credit to his district. Trust that if things have been lax previously, they will not be with him at the top of the adminstrative ladder.By 1995

He was suspened from school for Thursday and Friday. He could have come back. But Coach Schnieder said no way. So get the facts before popping offBy N-Mont student

Before you go blaming him for being a selfish punk, you must know the whole story first. What he did wasn’t meant to penalize the team but to aid him in passing a class. This never should have been blown out of proportion the way it was. Robin Spiller was right for punishing him but the way she did it was wrong, a simple two or three Saturday schools would have been just fine. Now Xavior may never receive any scholarships due to him not being able to play in this game.By stuuuudent

I don’t get how stealing would help him pass a class. I’m glad Coach and the administration handled this situation the same way they would have had this been any other student. Starter or not football players should not receive any special treatment from administrators no matter how big the game isBy R J..Miamisburg, Oh

To All who will be going to Nippert on Sat. DON’T PARK in any of the Shopping Centers that are around U.C. IF you do YOU WILL GET TOWED. Park in the UC Garage or the UC lots or on the Streets. Cincy PD don’t enforce Parking meters on weekends. If your car is Towed, it may cost you $150 to $200 to get it our of the tow lot. It happen to me in 2002. The RiteAid Lot across from Nippert is the worse for this, as is the Krogers and BlockBusters Lot. A Kind word for Sat.By R J..Miamisburg, Oh

One More thing for next year. Cincy Oak Hills has said they will no longer play Elder in FB starting next year. So Maybe Nmont can add them early in the year. For the past 2 yrs Elder had played Oak Hills in the 3rd game. Then in 2010 Elder MAY not be playing West HI. Open date for a Dayton team to Play Elder-home-away?? Have Nmonts AD call Elders AD, Dave Delbelt to add them to Nmont list …By tbolt

Don’t say that the team needed him they only lost by three he could’ve been the difference between a win and a loss but it’s all about winning right
