What do you want U.S. to accomplish in Iraq?

Five years ago today, President Bush stood aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and declared “major combat operations in Iraq have ended.”

U.S. Rep. John Murtha, chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, spoke at the Center for American Progress Action Fund Thursday on the five-year anniversary of Bush declaring “mission accomplished.”

Murtha said, “1,827 days later, the U.S. occupation of Iraq continues, and our ‘mission’ remains undefined and open-ended.”

“Even today, five years later, this Administration refuses to provide us with reasonable answers to very reasonable questions. First, what are we trying to accomplish in Iraq? And second, what is the United States’ mission there?”

I really admire President Bush. He will not back down on Iraq despite all the setbacks. He will not let another war lost on his watch. No attacks on the U.S.A in almost seven years. Thank you President Bush.

I believe the President successfully ran a baseball team, completed two terms as Governor of Texas as well as two terms as President; thus, dispelling the comment that he never completed anything. Guess that makes you the liar, eh MWM?

There is a “caps lock” button on the left side of your keyboard. Perhaps if you press it once! Anyway, Bush was never capable of finishing anything he started. Never completed his time in the AirForce, never a success at business. And, never able to complete a “mission”. However, Bush will be remembered as a habitual liar.

PRESIDENT BUSH MADE A MISTAKE DECLARING MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, BUT HE COULD SHOW UP AT A MARINE REUNION AND GET FIVE TIMES THE RESPECT AS FORMER MARINE MURTHA. WHO IS CONSIDERED A JUDAS. THIS IS A FACT.

The most important thing to accomplish in Iraq is to learn from our past mistakes. It is important that we never again allow a president or an administration to use lies, deceptions and fearmongering on the American public. Or, we will be coerced into another immoral war in the future. Essentially, we, as Americans must demand proof and evidence when a President attempts to take us into war. VietNam had the Gulf of Tonkin Lie, and with Iraq, it is the WMD Lie.
