Christmas music starts at noon Friday

Christmas is coming pretty early to the Dayton area. Starting at noon tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 14 (yes, that’s two weeks before Black Friday!) Lite 99.9 will switch over to all Christmas music all the time. Take our Christmas song lyrics quiz to see how well you’ll be able to sing along this season.

They’ll kick it all off in the Christmas cottage in the middle of the Mall at Fairfield Commons food court at noon.

With that and today’s arrival of Dayton’s Christmas tree to Courthouse Square, it seems the holidays are creeping up earlier than ever this year. Everyone seems to already be getting their holiday shopping started too and the retailers are counting on that with so many people out of jobs and hurting financially.

But is it too early for all this Christmas cheer? Share your thoughts below and vote in the poll. [an error occurred while processing this directive]

Christmas is the moneymaker for retailers. There’s no money in thanksgiving,so they skip over it.But with so many unemployed the retailers will be looking for a bailout to after the holidays.

Never too early. Love the season. We need the hope and promise of the Christmas message more than ever.

Come on, Old Bus. Obama is in office after the first of the year. The messiah will wave his hand and all will be well. Too bad all of you that voted for him will feel the disappointment that you felt when you discovered there is no Santa Claus. Let’s just hope that all Americans regain our self reliance to care for ourselves and the ones most in need. That is what Christmas is about, not retail sales or big brother government. Government powerful enough to give you everything is also powerful enough to take it all away! Beware of what you ask for, you may get it!

I think that Christmas music and the like should start the Friday after Thanksgiving. However, I have been aching for them to turn on the Christmas lights that are around campus here in St. Louis. They seem like they have been up forever!

First, Eric, stay on topic. Next, I agree with Bio Major that the music should start the day after Thanksgiving. Before that, they could mix in a song or two each hour and I could deal with that.
