Arrest made in string of tool thefts

FAIRBORN — Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for a series of thefts spanning months when items were taken from tool sheds and construction trailers.

George Green, 41, of Spangler Road in Fairborn, is charged with multiple counts of receiving stolen property and other charges are pending, said Sgt. Matt Ricketts, Fairborn police.

Greene was arrested after a patrol officer noticed him driving a Chevy S-10 suspiciously early Nov. 26 with a gas generator and lawn mower in the truck bed, Ricketts said.

Police later searched his residence and found 62 items they believe were taken from various sheds and trailers in the area. Items include snow blowers, lawn mowers, pressure washers, string trimmers and different types of power tools.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information can contact Fairborn police at (937) 754-3000
