Here’s your chance to give feedback
OK, so Gov. Ted Strickland’s “conversation on education” was a bit overly scripted. That doesn’t mean that thoughtful people of all political stripes and ideologies can still give intelligent feedback.
Over at Cleveland’s Catalyst Magazine, they are asking anyone who wants to comment on Strickland’s ideas to send them email (the link is on Catalyst’s main page in the upper right hand corner).
So go ahead, tell ‘em what you think.

If Strickland pursues K-12 issues in the same way as he did higher ed., then this effort won’t be necessary. Eric Fingerhut kept a blog on the Ohio Board of Regents website where anyone who wished was able to provide comments—in addition to attending quite a few meetings of interested groups. When I look at the higher ed. plan, I see evidence that these inputs were given honest consideration, it wasn’t a case of letting people talk while doing what was originally planned. If the legislature doesn’t drag its feet on promoting the state superintendent to cabinet status, then I’d anticipate Strickland’s appointee will mirror that process.
