Dayton still in Lunardi’s bracket
The loss to Rhode Island was one that seemed to put an end, at least temporarily, to Dayton’s hopes for an NCAA tournament at-large bid, but that doesn’t appear to be the case after all.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, who is famous for picking the final teams in the field with uncanny accuracy, has UD in his bracket posted today as a 10 seed.
I have to admit, I’m shocked by that. But one thing working in UD’s favor is a stellar 6-2 record against the RPI top-50.
The Atlantic 10 has five teams on the board. Of course, the Flyers have to reverse their two-game losing streak and get back on the winning track to stay there.

I have been a fan starting 1967 and can not understand why the coach just watches over and over them take 3 after 3. Luke just stands around and waits and that is it. Why does people think he good ?????

Does a loss to a complete nobody at home hurt more than a quality win? THAT is the question. And what if they bow out of the A10 tournament in the first or second round?

When UD has the ball, all UD fans yell FOUL - thinking the opposing defense has fouled, not always the case. When the Visiting team has the ball all UD fan scream WALK… UD Basketball = Marshall Football. Well attended just not that important. Ask a UD fan and they will say UD arena Holds like 18 or 20 thousand Flyer Faithful. Give me a break.

Lunardi has UD as a lock for the NCAA tournament. No chance they miss the NCAA tourney this year.

UD can’t win on the road and can’t get motivated for low RPI teams at home. They won’t even make the NIT this year.

Very surprising. Too bad it’s not March. I always root for the flyers, but they still need to play at St. Louis and at X. And I’m sure there will be other stumbles like the loss to Rhode Island along the way. I really don’t think they will be there at the end of the season. But, I’ll still be rooting for them.

Dayton has been beaten by two of the three worst RPI teams on their schedule. I wouldn’t start printing the Big Dance tickets just yet.

Guys I said they’re a lock, relax, your Flyers are in the dance, along with 4 other A10 teams, I am not biased at all, and have no affiliation to the A10. My boy Swampy will agree.

Anyone who believes UD is a lock this early in the season is out of their minds. If UD loses out you think they are going to be in the dance? Now I dont believe they will lose out, and I do think they will make the dance, but anything is possible and nothing is “locked” And with 5 A10 teams in the bracket right now, it shows how mediocre the field is this year. A10 is lucky to get two bids normally.

Please help me understand why PW has not bought in this year. I said the second week of the season he looks and acts bored with no emotion. UD is not that talented or good they have just played good (at times) but what puzzles me is why a senior is going through the motions. I blame RI on him..He should be replaced in the starting line up by DO. Also tell why RH was in at the 1:50 mark of a tie game ( then turns it over) Come on Archie, margin of error is very slim you can’t make coaching mistakes like that.

I also wondered why RH was in the game at a critical time and then proceeded to turn the ball over. I used to get on BG’s case over things like that. Archie feel asleep on that one and I hope it doesn’t become a pattern.

Joe Lunardi is 99.9 % accurate, so we are in the NCAA tournament. We will probably be playing either Kansas State, UConn, or Virginia in the first round. I think we should win any of those games pretty easily.

Rudy Flyer- Lunardi is 99.9% accurate, but he is constantly changing the bracket through out the season. He puts out a new bracket every week and if you compare this week’s bracket with last week you will see that UD dropped to a lower seed based on the back to back loses. UD can play their way right out of the NCAA and right into the NIT. Now I think they will make the dance but its not a lock in late January.

UD is a lock for the 27th seed and a possible NIT bid. Whoops, lost to the Dukes. Looks like the CBA will be calling at season end, you know the tournament you pay to get in.
