Bar patron asked police to use Taser on him
A man who was asked to leave Ned Peppers bar on Sunday night was initially compliant with police, but then inexplicably challenged them to forcibly remove him.
The bar staff called Dayton Police when the 52-year-old started acting strangely. He allegedly was heard saying that his family owned the bar and the City of Dayton and that he would blow up the bar.
When officers approached him and asked him to gather his things and exit the bar, he asked why he had to leave, but calmly stood and started to put on his coat.
According to a police report, the man suddenly stopped and asked what would happen if he refused to leave. When officers informed him that he would be forcibly removed he allegedly took his coat back off, set it down and stated “Let’s go.”
Officers informed him that they would use a Taser on him if he did not comply to which he said, “Then do it.”
An officer warned the subject several more times before deploying his Taser into the man’s midsection. He fell to the floor and was handcuffed and removed from the bar without further incident.
