Deer suspected in attempted break-in

T’was three days before Christmas

And all through the house

Came the noise of glass breaking

And it wasn’t the mouse.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of Larchwood after the homeowner arrived to find a basement window broken out.

Basement windows are often the target of thieves, so police took the report seriously.

Examining the scene, officers found footprints in the snow belonging to the homeowner. The only other tracks were those of a deer. The window glass of the window was not broken, though the window was knocked off its track.

The homeowner reported nothing missing.

Officers theorized the deer might have butted or kicked in the window. The officers did not have a suspect.

I think it was Blitzen, a noted trouble-maker.
