Grey skies, Columbus day, and Monday

What a dreary day! For a Monday, and a day when only society’s elite get the holiday off, it is hard for us sloggers (and bloggers!) to keep our chin up and work away!

But, I’m out there, and trying hard to be my perky self. One thing that did make me smile this morning was the finished extension of St. Clair Avenue in Fairfield. You can go all the way through now, and it is wonderful.

In fact as the old Charlie Daniels song says: Mario Andretti would have sure been proud … at the way I careened down that stretch of road! Of course I hope many of the Fairfield police officers are off celebrating Columbus Day today!

Other than that, the roads have been free of headache and heavy traffic. I have seen no new work zones, no accidents and no major problems. So that in itself is reason to smile. Keep up the good work commuters!

All the crazies will be back at work tomorrow!
