NEWS OF McNAIR’S DEATH

SWEEPS ACROSS NATION

FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and a woman were found shot to death Saturday afternoon inside a condominium in downtown Nashville, police said.

Police spokesman Don Aaron said authorities were still investigating the shootings and that no suspects were in custody.

“I don’t have any answers for you now as to what’s happened, who’s responsible,” Aaron said.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement: “We don’t know the details, but it is a terrible tragedy and our hearts go out to the families involved.”

Mr. McNair was 36.

Mike: I appreciate your readership of “Ludwig At Large,” but please don’t bring race into this. Plenty of Caucasian males die violent deaths, too. It’s a tragedy and let’s leave it at that. Steve McNair was a great quarterback who deserves consideration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I agree Chick Steve was a great QB and almost led Tenn to a win over the Rams in 99. I was shocked when i heard the news lastnight. To Mike this was not about color or race. You should be ashamed.
