Spike, you probably don’t even receive the Dayton Daily News paper at your home. I’d cut cable too. Dish, home phone and internet cost $165 a month. Ridiculous.

I have already sold my Cincinnati Reds and Bengals box seats. I got less than half what I paid for them.

Already living without cable and it’s just fine. Netflix and the Internet are all I need as far as technological entertainment go. I also don’t load up my cell phone with add-ons.

The first thing to go would be money spent on others like donations and gifts.

I would cut cigarettes. As for the household, I would get rid of my ATT phone account since i have a cell phone. Total savings: $232.76. WOW!

Cable TV and phone - we have cell phones. Need the ‘net for business unfortunately. Switch to a smaller cell phone plan. And that’s about all we can cut since DP&L upped our budget billing from $167 to $235 in September and then to $255 this month. With the same usage as last year!!!

Being a student, I cannot cut internet. But, I would get rid of my Black Berry and get a simple phone, calling and texting only. Cricket phones are $35 monthly, a lot better than my $100 ATT plan! lol!…dang, sounds like a good idea…lol

I would cut the cable and home phone. Need the internet for work. Change cell phone to the simplest plan possible. Quit eating out, shopping for clothing/shoes and wear what is in the closets. Lower the thermostat and wear more layers. No movies out, no buying books to read - start using the library card. Start selling items - only need one tv, DVD’s that are no longer watched, CD’s that no one listens to anymore. No more purchasing music online. Start carpooling and sell the second car. There are lots of things that can be cut!!!

HA HA I like Raoul’s suggestion! A friend of mine just got divorced and she took him to the cleaners -he has to pay her $50k/yr spousal support (almost half he earns with his job)..yet he finds he STILL has more money than before because she can’t spend the rest of what he has, like she did when they were married. On a serious note tho’ cable is the biggest waste of money and would be the first thing I cut.

I already live without cable tv. I would cut spending on my home and do more ‘fixer-upper’ things that i can do myself instead of buying new furniture or hiring trades men to do improvements like updates on lighting and flooring. Also, car insurance. My company has a new thing comeing out that if i put a video in my car for 30 days and they can monitor my driving i can save up to 30%. Definately going to do that!!
