Are homes selling in your neighborhood?
Have you noticed home sales perking up at all in your neighborhood?
JEFF GLASGOW, Huber Heights: “The same houses have been for sale for the past year. One just sold, but one out on the main drag has probably been for sale for a least two years.”
VICKY BAILEY, Xenia: “Some houses have been for sale for a year. A house next door was for sale for a year, and now it’s for rent.”
DEBRA GREGG, Dayton: “There are a lot of houses for sale. A few have sold, but not very many.”
DENISE FINNEY, Springfield: “In my neighborhood, it’s the same houses that have been for sale for some time, as well as all the ones around me that are foreclosed. I haven’t seen any improvement.”
CAROL RIDGEWAY, Leesburg: “I’m from Highland County, close to where Airborne Express went out about a year ago. The housing market is pretty stagnant. We have one of the highest percentages of people out of work in Ohio.”

I have noticed none, and a lot have been for sale for quite a while. Why? They’re asking too much. I don’t know who is asking or demanding those prices (realtor, bank, or owner), but they have not come to grips with the way-down market. I doubt it’s the realtor, though. They get nothing from a high-rpiced house that never sells.

At one time there were about 7 for sale, now they are all occupied; 2 were rented out.

No, one down the street in W.C. is always for sale, now needing mandatory concrete curbing repair, either paid by the owner or taken from property taxes. In Clayton, three unsold brick houses for sale around my Mom’s. Anybody miss those old blue-collar dollars yet? Is Algore still an economic genius? Do we need open borders, job exporters and more and cheaper labor?

Somehow the boarded up windows, tall grass and burnt out hulks are discouraging buyers…..I am not sure why. Bulldoze first, bulldoze NOW!
