Should schools use breathalyzers on students before dances?
Some schools use breathalyzers to screen students suspected of drinking before admission to high school dances. Should they do that?
SHARON WILSON, Kettering: “Yes. They need to impose something like that because of the possibility of drunk driving.”
MEGAN UNGER, Vandalia: “Looking back now, I think it’s a good idea. But we’re still at the age where we know how it feels to be in high school. I wouldn’t have been happy about it back then.”
MICHAEL FRIESZELL, Clayton: “It’s an excellent idea. When I was in high school, you always worried about what you’d hear the next day — who might have been hurt after the dance.”
AMY HENSLEY, Lebanon: “Yes, because it’s illegal for underage kids to drink. Kids are getting away with too much. Alcohol is easy to buy.”
PAIGE BATES, Hamilton: “It’s a good idea. If you’ve been drinking, you shouldn’t be driving. You could be hurt. A lot of bad things could happen.”
DEBBIE FRIESZELL, Clayton: “It’s a good idea, because if you’re not drinking, you should have no concern about taking the test — and they shouldn’t be drinking.”
