Will Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s stupid comments help Erin Andrews on DWTS
It looks like Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s big mouth lit a fire under Erin Andrews dancing shoes.
Last week, the ever-controversial co-host of ABC’s “The View” dissed the ESPN personality’s revealing “Dancing with the Stars” outfits.
“For the past like three weeks she been wearing like next to nothing,” Hasselbeck said Tuesday. “In light of what happened and as illegal and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room, in someway if I am him, I am like man I just could have waited like 12 weeks and seen this, a little bit less, without the prison time.”
Hasselbeck, issued a tearful apology the next day on the view, saying that she was sorry she hurt Andrews, a victim of a stalker and a peeping tom.
The ordeal has apparently rallied Andrews supports.
PopEater’s Rob Shuter said Hasselbeck’s woman-hating slam seems to be helping Andrews.
“Elisabeth’s comments have not only made Erin more determined to win, but have also given every woman in America who has ever been made fun of because of what they wear or how they look a champion,” he wrote quoting a DWTS insider.

While Hasselback’s comments may seem insensitive, I think they were made in order to express a point rather than to condemn all women for what they wear. This particular woman was horrified to have a stalker peeking at her and when it comes right down to it, it’s true he could have seen only a little less and wouldn’t have to go to prison had he waited for DWTS to air. I think many of the costumes for that show are pretty much in bad taste but I don’t think they beg for stalkers either. I’m not sure why Hasselback should be apologetic for what she said…it is her opinion and it really isn’t that far off the mark if one is considering reality.

She’s not exactly the most conservative dresser int he world, herself. Having a forum does not give one the right to freely insult everyone, and she knows she was wrong. Thus, the apology.

Brenda - Hasselback is self-righteous, always has been. It is a dance contest, they are dance costumes. If she were only making a point as you say, why pick on Erin specifically, if they are all tasteless, pick on everybody. Why did she even bring it up to begin with. I don’t watch the View anymore, but did see her very energetic “I’m outraged” comments on a news program. So sure we care what she thinks, and all she did was reaffirm she just has a big mouth and speaks inappropriately.

She should apologize not only for being insensitive regarding this issue and the personal feelings of Erin, but for her constantly self-righteous, holier than thou attiude toward anything and anyone who doesn’t meet with her personal approval.

if Hasselback were a Liberal saying what she did regarding a Conservative woman…this would not be an issue, in fact she would be regaled by the media. an apology would be a non sequitur.

Talk about holier-than-thou attitudes…Some of the other hosts have said more provocative things and gotten much less reaction. Oh, that’s right…Mrs. Hasselbeck has a conservative POV. That makes your hateful rants perfectly okay. Nevermind.

At least Hasselbeck apologized. The other women on “The View” have said far worse and don’t apologize for any of it. Will these remarks make me for for Andrews? No. There are far better dancers on the show than Erin Andrews.

What she said was childish rehtoric - somthing a yound girl would have said to make her point. But, when a conservative uses rehtoric, all of the sudden, the media has never heard of rehtoric and skewers her. I HATE YOU MEDIA! YOU F_G MEDIA!

I dont watch "The View" any longer due to the crude & foul mouths of the (shall we say the ladies???)As far as the "young one" she doesnt belong on the show cause of her ramblings on about Erin & her childish views.
